Hair Cut and Fitting

Whew.  I'm exhausted!  Of course the boys are still chattering and laughing the night away in their beds- I have no idea how!

This morning we got to do some play time in our apartment while we waited for Miss Cynthia to come do the boys hair.  We had purposefully left it alone since they booked this role an entire month ago and it got so long they could barely see!  I was so very ready for it to be cut and so very thankful that Miss Cynthia offered to drive up to our place to do it in our apartment.  She was incredibly nice and the boys were very comfortable with her.  She cut then dyed their hair and we rinsed them in the kitchen sink :)  Unfortunately the director wanted it a bit darker than it came out, so Miss Cynthia ran out to get some more dye and came back to do it again.  The boys were troopers and had lots of fun showing her their books and videos while they waited to rinse the dye out.  Turns out Miss Cynthia loves the Titanic and her husband is an illustrator for children's storybook apps so they had lots of fun together!

It was 2:30 by the time their hair was done (and approved by the director!) and we ran to jump on the train to head into the city.  Luckily my mom had walked to the train station earlier in the morning to get our tickets and figure things out so all we had to do was get there, get Caleb up the stairs, and get on the train. When we got to Grand Central Station, we learned the first of what I'm sure will be many lessons about living in New York City:  Don't ever, ever, ever, try to hail a cab directly outside of the train station.  Especially on a Friday night.  Just don't do it.  You can thank me later!  We finally got to the production office 45 minutes (and one mile) later.  The director was waiting with some very thoughtful gifts for the boys- some Legos and two wooden NYC subway cars for their train set.  Then we did about an hour of trying on clothes and putting together outfits with Miss Alex.  Matthew ended up doing it all because she wanted to match shirts with pants and Caleb can't really do anything but sweatpants right now.  But Cal was awesome and just chilled out while Matthew tried on an entire movie's worth of clothes.  It was great to be back at the production office and to see everyone and to know we are ready to get started!!!

Our last stop in the city was Rockefeller Center and the Lego store.  The boys saved a little bit of their Christmas money from Great Grandma and Grandpa Smith so they could fill up one more tub at the Lego store- because we really need more Legos!  Oy vei!  At least we didn't feel packed into that place like sardines this time...  Rockefeller Center is much less crazy in January than it is at Christmas time!  We walked from Rockefeller Center back to Grand Central Terminal- right through the Met Life Building!  Only our kids would find that to be the highlight of their day in NYC!  We finally made it back to our apartment at 8:00pm.  The boys played with some of their new Legos for a bit and are FINALLY settling down in bed.  Jon will be here in the morning- praying he can get here safely and navigate his way up to our apartment.  Saturday is pancake day and the Paddock's can't do pancake day without daddy!!!

Started our first morning out the right way- Brought my coffee from home and Jon managed to surprise me by packing my favorite mug for me.

I honestly don't know what the deal is with people in NYC and their glass tables!!!  Don't they have kids around here?!?!  We will be going to get some corner protectors for that baby tomorrow!

Snowed for most of the morning- this was the view out of our living room window!

Our kitchen with that damn glass table  #somebodywillneedstitches

Matthew ready for his haircut!!

Havin' fun :)

Heaven for little boys...  Thank you Great Grandma and Grandpa Smith!!

Walking towards the Met Life Building- one of the boys' favorites!

This wasn't even the kid who walked!  LOL!
