Four years ago today, we left Michigan headed for Twinsburg, Ohio for the boys very first Twins Days Festival. They weren't even one year old. Being rather new to the twin thing, we had absolutely no idea what to expect. We had no idea that a lifetime of friendships awaited the boys, that for one weekend every year they would have the most amazing opportunity to celebrate their twin-ness with thousands of friends who understand exactly what it means to have your best friend by your side forever and always. We certainly had no idea that by two years old, the boys would have acquired not one, but TWO Mayor's Choice trophies for their double adorableness the Double Take Parade! Even though they are only 3 years old, Twinsburg has become something so special to our boys. They have been counting down the days for two weeks now, each morning they awake eagerly asking if its Twinsburg day yet. They've been asking to look at their old scrapbooks where they point out all of the friends we have made. And they know these friends by name, because they have memories and photos of the same people for each of the last three years. When we took the boys to their first festival three years ago, we didn't realize that their friends would become like a special family that they looked forward to reuniting with all summer long!
Luckily I was able to get Jon to start working on the boys' costumes more than three days prior to our departure this year!!! We started almost two weeks ago and as of midnight last night I can safely say that they are ready! The boys have helped every step of the way and they are so excited to show off their costumes and float :) We even got them two giant boxes of "magic beans" to throw during the parade! I'm not revealing anything else- so stay tuned!!! I promise you won't be disappointed!
