California Remix: Day 27

The boys and I had a down day while daddy was at work.  We went to Ikea for lunch and spent an hour or so at Barnes and Noble then came home to make dinner.  Right after dinner we decided to brave the traffic into the city for what was likely to be our last trip to the beach.  How sad!  We drove through LA- luckily against most of the traffic- to get down to Santa Monica.  We never actually made it to the beach.  The boys were having a blast on the playground so we spent most of the evening just hanging out there.  Just about at sunset we decided to venture out onto the pier.  The boys have been wanting to ride the ferris wheel and we figured now was as good a time as any :)  By the time we got up it was dark out, but the view was just incredible- if not a bit scary as you come up and right over the ocean!!!  We let the boys do one more ride before heading home.  Of course Jon realized that Diddy Riese was "on the way" home so we thought we'd be a little crazy and stop for cookies.  The boys had a cookie and carton of milk at 10pm- definitely one of the crazier things we've ever done!  LOL!  They managed to make it all the way home awake, I'm still not sure how!
