California Remix- Day 6

I was too tired to post last night so I had to wake up early this morning to do it.  It seemed like a good idea at first but now I think I'm going to go back to bed when I'm done!

Yesterday we woke up early and went down to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market.  We went twice last time we were here and just loved it.  We loaded our bag with fresh fruits and veggies, the boys ate their weight in samples, and we all shared a strawberry banana crepe from the crepe guy, who- to be honest- is the main reason we drove that far for a farmer's market!  The boys got to play around with this whacky guy's art inventions which was a ton of fun, and we let them share a coconut water like they did two summers ago (because of course they remembered that).

On our way home we took a quick detour to stop by our first Frank Lloyd Wright house here in California.  The boys have complied quite a list of FLW houses they have seen and although it is not their driving passion at the moment, we can't pass up the chance to add a few of his California houses to the list while we are here.  Two of the producers on the boys' last film gave the boys a great FLW book- and being that they are from LA they told us some of their favorite houses in the area.  So that combined with the nifty little Frank Lloyd Wright Finder app I downloaded to my phone (almost as cool as the California Farmer's Market app!), we navigated our way to the George D. Sturges house in Brentwood.  It was by far one of Frank's greatest cantilever's we've seen to date!!!

In the afternoon we finally got to get together with my aunt and uncle and it was the most wonderfully relaxing evening.  They took us to their friends house to go for a swim.  The boys were so busy playing Titanic that I'm not sure they even noticed how gorgeous the view was.  My aunt and uncle were also brave enough to let the boys hold their friend's two Emmys which the boys thought was pretty darn cool.  Jon explained that they are like the Piston Cup of acting and with that perspective, the boys were quite impressed!  After a swim we headed back for dinner and some play time in the back yard.  The boys do about as well as they can living in an apartment- but it takes every ounce of their strength to remember to be quiet all the time.  They were just in Heaven to have a back yard to run around in!!!  They had to blob lemons this time because the grapefruit tree was bare, but apparently the type of citrus fruit launched off of the giant exercise ball is not nearly as important as one would have thought :)  The lemons did just fine!  By the time we got home it was 9:00 and we were able to put the boys straight to bed- they were asleep within seconds.  And that my friends, is how you know it was a good day!!!
